The annual NEHA Hill Day will be held on Earth Day, April 22, 2021. The NEHA Board of Directors will be virtually visiting over 40 members of Congress to discuss challenges faced by the environmental health workforce during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The board will highlight the work that the profession has performed in the past year, as well as request funding for federal, state, local, tribal, and territorial environmental health programs. They will also be meeting with staff from the office of Representative Brenda Lawrence (D-Michigan), who will be reintroducing the Environmental Health Workforce Act in 2021.

Read the recent May 2021 Journal of Environmental Health columns from NEHA President Sandra Long and Executive Director Dr. David Dyjack that highlight the upcoming NEHA Hill Day 2021 and the important work NEHA is doing to increase the awareness of our nation's leadership in regard to the importance of environmental health.

Since 2017, NEHA has held a Hill Day event in the spring to ensure that the environmental health profession has a voice in major policy decisions. NEHA Hill Day 2020 was canceled last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
