Using GIS to Improve Mosquito Management Webinar

The Environmental Protection Agency is hosting a webinar on how using GIS and other mapping platforms can improve your community’s mosquito abatement efforts.

Mr. Chris Fredregill, Field Operations Manager for the Harris County (Texas) Public Health Mosquito and Vector Control Division will discuss how the integration of GIS, high resolution maps, inter and intra department data points, and other map based resources can improve your mosquito surveillance program, decision making for targeted versus wide scale control, historical pesticide use records, and locating high risk areas during mosquito-borne disease outbreak scenarios.

Mr. Kenneth McPherson, US EPA Region 6, will also discuss the future of risk modeling through the use of GIS platforms to assist local health departments and mosquito control districts identify areas with the greatest potential for mosquito presence/abundance.  Register here:
